Much of the success of your music ministry will depend on what you do behind the scenes and in preparation for upcoming services and events. Here are some tools that will help support your music program.

Several years ago I was in downtown Iloilo City. After doing what I needed to do, I got in a taxi. The driver asked where I wanted to go and I told him to go to Iloilo Baptist Church in Jaro. Most taxi drivers know our place, so I did not think much about it and began to work on some paperwork. After about 20 minutes, the taxi stopped. I had not been paying attention to where he was going, because of my work. Then I looked up, there I was inside the compound of the largest Roman Catholic Church in our region of the country, the Jaro Cathedral.

About a year and a half ago, I was introduced to Planning Center Online (PCO), which is a web-based planning and communication tool that has helped me more effectively serve our music team. One brief article is not enough to exhaustively explain the usefulness of this tool, so I would encourage you to explore their website.

This is the time of year that we get caught up in the business of the Christmas season, but we don’t want to lose sight of the priorities that God blesses. I wanted to share with you five things that I try to focus on in December.
