Text: Acts 10:39, 1 Peter 2:24

Title: God’s Christmas Tree

I. The Picking of the Tree

A. We choose a beautiful tree. God’s tree was brutal.

B. We choose a graceful tree. God’s tree was gory.

C. We choose a straight tree. God’s tree needed to be strong enough to hold the weight of His Son.

II. The Placing of the Tree

A. We place our tree in the stand with great care and some difficulty.

B. God’s tree was dropped with a bone-rattling, skin-tearing, joint-dislocating thud into a hole.

III. The Preparation of the Tree

A. We decorate our tree with bulbs. God’s tree was decorated with the blood of His Son.

B. We decorate our tree with tinsel. God’s tree was decorated with the torn form of the Lord Jesus Christ.

C. We decorate our tree with lights. God’s was adorned with the loveliest Light—the Light of the World.
