Pastor Kinney was born and reared in a Roman Catholic family. He was saved at the age of 19 in an Independent Baptist ministry while stationed aboard a U.S. Navy ship in the Mediterranean Sea. After his salvation and while still in the Navy, he met Carol and they were married in January 1978. The Lord has blessed them with three children and ten grandchildren. 
 
Pastor Kinney graduated from Bible College in May of 1985, and on June 15, 1986, he became the second pastor of Temple Baptist Church. He and Carol are thankful for the many families who have served with them for years, and for the souls saved and new families added each year.
