The following is a soulwinning or preaching outline of ten key words found in the Roman's Road. Instead of going directly to Romans 3, let’s start with the “good news” of Romans 1.
The ten key words are Gospel, Salvation, Wrath, Unrighteousness, Excuse, Guilty, Righteousness, Justified, Whosoever, and Saved.
The good news is the Gospel, which is the first key word:
1. The Power of God: Gospel—Romans 1:1,9,15,16
The good news of the Gospel is the power of God to save. The good news of the Gospel is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 1 Corinthians 1:17–18, and 1 Thessalonians 1:5.
- Jesus died for our sins.
- And He was buried.
- And He rose from the dead.
2. The Plan of God: Salvation—Romans 1:16
- Luke 2:11—“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
- Romans 10:1—“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved”—saved from sin, death, and Hell.
3. The Provoking of God: Wrath—Romans 1:18
- John 3:36—“…and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
- Psalm 7:1—God is angry with the wicked every day.

4. The Problem with God: Unrighteousness—Romans 1:18
