Forward in the Face of Fear

A Review of the Book by Dr. Edgar Feghaly
There are some books that you read, finish, and move on. And then there are books that you read and feel profoundly thankful were written. For me, Forward in the Face of Fear: My Life for Christ in the Muslim World by Edgar Feghaly is in the second category.

How to Make Your Church Hum

A Review of the Book by Paul Powell
I recently read a great little book. It isn’t exactly a book that is “hot off the press.” How To Make Your Church Hum was written in 1977, and it came into my possession the same way most of my books do—via a used bookstore. A few years ago I saw this book for sale, and its title caught my attention.

A Review of the Book by Clay Cooper
There is no shortage today of books on missions, and I have certainly read my share. Aside from individual missionary biographies, there are three books that I have read in recent years which stand out in my mind as some of the most challenging books I have ever read. One of them is Nothing to Win But the World.

A Review of the Book by Dr. Don Sisk
Some of the most fruitful members of any church are those who are in their “fourth quarter” of life. With the advantages of time and experience, they are uniquely qualified to enrich the ministries of the local church and invest their lives in others.

God’s Man in China

A Review of the Book by Dr. and Mrs. Howard Taylor
This is probably the only book I would be willing to buy just to read the foreword! The forward summarizes Taylor’s heart for the Lord Jesus Christ, his love for people, and his ambition to reach inland China.

A Review of the Book by Gary Gilley
Good, strong, faithful churches in our day are increasingly being enticed away from the foundation of Scripture. In an effort to draw a crowd, they are actually being drawn into the crowd.

First Steps for New Christians

Profile picture for user Gabriel Ruhl
By Gabriel Ruhl, Monday, May 3, 2010
I love soulwinning! It is not something I feel I am good at, but I have learned that the more you go the more fruit you will have. I love the quote by Dr. Curtis Hutson, “The only alternative to soulwinning is disobedience to God.”

The Extraordinary Life of Bob Hughes

Profile picture for user Dr. Rick Martin
By Dr. Rick Martin, Monday, March 15, 2010
For 30 years I have prayed that someone would write a full biography of Missionary Bob Hughes. It was through this man that many missionaries, including myself, surrendered to go to the mission field. I believe the best way to introduce this book is by sharing the following email I sent to Bro. Roark after receiving a copy of the book.
